The lid is an ABS plastic, which is very durable and resistant to breakages. The seals and the valve are a food grade silicone. • Vacuuming with the battery pump is the best as it has a cut off when it reaches the correct vacuum inside the canister.
• Vacuuming with the manual hand pump becomes a little bit of guess work but still works very well. You stop when the pump has obvious resistance.
• You can use your vacuum sealer also but you will need the correct hose to attach the sealer to the canisters. The vacuum sealer also cuts off when it reaches the correct vacuum inside the canister.
• The Lava canister hose will connect the Lava vacuum sealer to the FVSA canister
• The Status canister hose will connect the Status vacuum sealer to the FVSA canister
• For the Preservac vacuum sealers you will need a separate hose to connect the two which is sold separately.

Usage of FVSA glass food vacuum canisters

• Remove the air from the Container by using the hand pump or connect to a food vacuum sealer.
• Keep pumping until it stops with the battery pump or resistance builds up on the manual pump.
• To open the container, move the valve in the center of the lid to one side.
• The lid has a dial in the middle which allows you to set the food’s date when stored or mark a date that the food will expiry.

Cleaning

The FVSA glass food vacuum canisters and lid should be cleaned prior to initial use with normal washing up liquid. They are also dishwasher safe.
