Food Vacuum Sealers Australia from the beginning

Officially Food vacuum sealers Australia started in October 2019 when we were formally known as BJ Enterprises and Marketing and we took over Munro Direct. Prior to this we had been selling food vacuum sealers and vacuum sealer bags and rolls for many years in a smaller way along with compact and collapsible kitchen products for the caravaners, campers and travellers. So in 2019 we started with a range of Status food vacuum sealers and about 10 different sizes of vacuum sealer bags for food and food vacuum sealer rolls also none as vacuum sealer freezer bags.

With in 6 months of establishing food vacuum sealers Australia we were in the 2020 covid lockdown down. We thought that was the end of us before we had begun, but we were so wrong, it was just the beginning of what is now a thriving business and an authority in food vacuum sealing in Australia.

Food vacuum sealing products that we have sold.

Food vacuum sealer bags and rolls

We started with just 80-micron embossed bags and rolls from 15cm wide up to 35cm wide. With in the first year, we were already getting inquiries for different types of bags. So, we introduced a range of 10cm and 12cm wide vacuum sealer rolls and 50cm long vacuum sealer bags for the salami industry. We do send these Australia wide but the bulk of them go to Victoria and South Australia. Then came a range of heavy-duty bags which are 100 microns thick rather than 80 microns. Although these are a little more expensive, they are very popular and the demand for quality bags was definitely there. With the introduction of a wider, 40cm Preservac vacuum sealer we also introduced 40cm rolls and a 40cm wide pre-made vacuum sealer bag is coming in 2026.

Along the way with increased pressure from customers to supply Compostable vacuum sealer bags, we introduced 1 size of bags and 2 sizes of rolls. They are about twice the price of a normal bag so they have been very slow moving and not really as attractive as they are made out to be. Compostable vacuum sealer bags have a shelf life of 5 years from time of manufacturing so for now we will be keeping sizes and stock levels at a minimum.

We also do a small range of zip lock vacuum sealer bags, 3 sizes. These are very popular with the jerky and biltong makers as a resealable option for there product. Also 1 size of black roll which is 100 microns thick. The purpose is to replicate a mylar bag which blocks out sunlight and can be vacuumed so there is no need for oxygen absorbers.

Finally, our latest addition is bags for chamber vacuum sealers. These were introduced because we now sell the Preservac DuoVac which is a chamber vacuum sealer and you can’t really supply one without the other. All though, for some this can be confusing we have tried to put them separate and be quite clear that they are not suitable for the other external bag vacuum sealers

As for our listings the big difference that food vacuum sealers Australia do is the mixed sizes of bags and rolls which is a great way to get a mixture of sizes at a discounted price. These listings will remain for 2026 and I am thinking that we will add to these also. So keep an eye out for them.

Food vacuum sealers

Our vacuum sealers back in 2019 were a couple of models from Status and a couple that we imported ourselves from China. Also, very quickly we were getting asked for commercial vacuum sealers. So, next came the commercial vacuum sealer range from Sico an Italian made commercial vacuum sealer. Although these were very good vacuum sealers, we did struggle to get spare parts from Sico so we soon moved to Lava, a German made vacuum sealer and what I do feel are the rolls Royce of vacuum sealers. With the introduction of Lava, we also made a move away from Status due to import problems and started replacing all the smaller type vacuum sealers with the Preservac vacuum sealer. So now in 2026 our main lines of food vacuum sealers are the Preservac vacuum sealers, the Lava vacuum sealers and the Status ProVac 360 commercial vacuum sealer. We can supply support and servicing for these 3 brands of the models that we supply but we do not service any other brands. We now have a good selection of Domestic vacuum sealers, professional vacuum sealers and commercial vacuum sealers. To date our most popular food vacuum sealer on the web site would have to be the Preservac VacMate due to its capability and price point. At this stage we have no reason to change from our current models although we may extend the range of Preservac models.

We introduced the starter packs just over a year ago and to date they have been very popular, a welcome addition. With a mixture of sizes in vacuum sealer bags and rolls in each pack at a discounted price. A perfect solution to the person starting out and not really knowing what size they need and lets face it, it is almost impossible for us to recommend sizes as everyone will pack there product differently. For 2026 these listings will definitely stay and you may see some more similar to this.

Food vacuum canisters

With the food vacuum canisters, we have always supplied them from Status, from Slovenia. They are excellent quality and they work although they are rather expensive due to the exchange rate of the euro and the import costs from Europe. We have in the past researched canisters from China which are much more affordable but up until now we have struggled to find a canister that is both practical and reliable so we have avoided this area. Recently I was in New Zealand visiting my Brothers Business, ZeroPak, and he shared some samples of food vacuum canisters from a company that he deals with in China. I was amazed at the quality and the fact that they did actually work. So, we are looking at combining forces to bring a shipment into both New Zealand and Australia. They will come as a set of 4 mixed sizes and with their own rechargeable pump so they are a stand alone set with out relying on a vacuum sealer to pump the air out. We are very excited about this addition to our shop in 2026 as we think they will also be much more affordable than the Status vacuum canisters.
